so we got up, early…we couldn’t sleep, ready long before we needed to, typically,
Dave and Margaret pulled up and we fitted all our little remaining stuff , even enough leg room space for us both, we then headed passed Daisy in the garage, felt so awful leaving her there, very sad,
We headed to the front desk to leave our details with Jo in hope that maybe someone will drive past or break down and want her! Said our good byes and thanks, then we were off!
The drive wasn’t depressing as I thought it would be, everyone chatted and we really got to know one another, they asked us if we’d like to stop off at two places, the crater and the fig , we hadn’t done these on our way up so took them up on the offer, how kind! Again,
First stop was the crater, lovely walk but the drop! Oh my Kieran didn’t like hanging here for long!..
After tea and custard creams, We then drove to the fig tree, which is huge! Wasn’t expecting what we saw, fabulous…
They were so thoughtful, as they had even made us a pack up of sandwiches!
We then was on our way back in to civilisation, the idea was we would be going to a hostel until we could get a flight, well when I rang up I was horrified at the prices, as I was on a phone Kieran and Margaret were talking and said that we were more than welcome to stay with them till we got on our feet, how incredible is that! Some sort of miracle coming from such a disaster! They opened up their home to us, and what a fab place, beautiful setting and we even had our own bathroom, been a long time since we have had that!! We met the rest of the family which live in the house next door, and set about our travel plans!
