Maggie island!!

So next was up to Townsville, the landing place for magnetic island, or as the locals call it, Maggie island.

We headed to the ferry, not as early as other places we’ve been, but we weren’t on a schedule, the island was all about beaches and chilling!

The ferry was super quick , at some points going over the waves we were airborn , my stomach wasn’t feeling so great as we got off.

Landing point is at nelly bay, we wanted to try and cover as much of the island as possible, to save cost we didn’t bring daisy over and just paid for an all day bus pass, which to be honest we thought is the better way once we got to the island as it stops at all the main locations.

We decided to head down to picnic bay first, which use to be the old landing point but was relocated to nelly bay a while back, certainly quite and nothing there clearly from the move, but we found it the best beach all day, it was beautiful, and fab views of Townsville.

Saw lots of fish and a little lad fishing on the pier was catching this long thin fish with a red beak! Only had dead ones   Didn’t feel right taking a phot of them, just respecting the dead.

We had a nice walk along the beach and then had a lovely sit and chill on the beach waiting for the bus to take us up to horseshoe bay…

As we went round we noticed it had a feel of hawaii in some parts, remote and basic but lovely.

Horse shoe bay was smaller than we thought it would be but still a pretty beach we had another walk along, but kept it short so we could head to Arcadia and see wild wallabies!!

Even a micra on the island!!! See best cars to have ;)..not a twister though, but still!! Looks like Tabitha (my old car I was forced to sell :'( )

So then jumped on the bus to head to Arcadia, the wallabies are down a uneven road just inbetween two of the beaches,  we weren’t a 100% sure we were going to see any, so we walked down on the beach for a bit of the walk, which was cool as we saw a bay green crab!!…

Tide was out so was easy to see lots of sea creatures…the sand had a lime green tint to it which shined, pictures again don’t do it justice…

We climbed back up to the rocky face to try our luck with the sort of wild wallabies…

We were in luck,

Everyone was feeding them, which they weren’t to bothered by, so we poured a bit of water for them which they loved,

a couple got that close that they were drinking from thr bottle! It was so adorable sneezing when it got up their noses,
We walked round the corner to see what else we would found, an amazing tunnel that had been cemented into place but had formed naturally …

On the other side we found this little lonely fella,

He too liked to drink from the bottle,

But had an interesting way of sitting…

Then it was time to head back, we decided to take the healthier option and walk back to nelly bay, lovely scenic path and wasn’t far…
