Fraser Island…day two…

So I stupidly started to gorge my face with the free hot buffet breakfast when Kieran came back with a tiny portion I remembered we had to go back on the coach again, which I forgot to mention being the largest sand island and trying to remain as natural as possible everything is off road and incredibly bumpy…And today was all about getting to the other side , first stop the 75 mile beach which is in fact a high way!! Where some of the rivers lead out leaves terribly deceiving drops in the sand, one we saw was roughly a meter deep, lucky us we were being chauffeur driven.

First stop was the old ship wreck of , this was sold by the New Zealanders to the Japanese , to save cost and drag they removed and sold the propellers from the ship and started towing it back, unfortunately Mother Nature decided to do her work and a storm began along their path snapping the chains from the towing ship and all the poor sailors could do was stand and watch it create its new fate and final destination, being shipwrecked on faser Island, nothing could be done and she is now being slowly claimed by the sea, Scott said that its said that one big storm will reducer her considerably or could even be the end of her, so glad we got to see her.

We then headed up to the champagne pools, these are rock pool but when the tide is in the waves thrash in creating a bubbly froth on top….yer far to cold we chickened out but I put my feet in! Had a walk round the rock pools which was nice…

Then headed bCk to Indian head, lovely myth story of a place of the gods where one loved it so much they wanted to become the island… Afraid I can’t remember much nor find it!… But saw whales at the top and got chased by a snake…yes it may only be a tree snake but I sure as hell ran like the wind! Haha…

Next and final stop for the day was Eli creek, which has a current that leads to the sea, a lot warmer but still way to cold so just dipped my toes in, but some of the guys braved it and got the rubber rings out and followed the current… Was incredibly pretty again….

We then headed back for our final meal!… As we stopped off at the shop Scott told us that we were able to use the pool and spa at the main resort, felt rude not to before dinner so the four of us headed there to warm up!!..

Food was great said our good byes and had one last photo with Scott, nice one…

The next one was rude and not on my account!… These two thought it would be great to act out the afternath of when a woman has been driving…hmmmm…

Loved it and really recommend cool dingos!!! Thanks Scott!!
