So we headed up to lone pines sanctuary, I was incredibly excited, as the day had arrived of me being able to hold a koala!!!
According to what I read online, the reasons I’ve not had any luck holding a koala so far is, its illegal in NSW, since 1997, where as Queensland your all good, yay for me!!!
This sanctuary has been open since 1927, it’s such on open and lovely place, lots of room for the animals and even being relatively busy you don’t feel on top of everyone.
This bird was funny, I asked for him if he was ok and said aww pretty feathers he then proceeded to flash his head piece to us!
There’s just so many koalas!!!…
Then it was my time 😀 honestly I wasn’t crazy excited all the time leading upto the photo, just excited, just happens that Kieran had to capture the few seconds of being so, haha
Kieran’s stroked one and that was enough for him.
So meet minty!!! Female around 7 years old the keeper told me, looked baffled when she passed her to me as in, where’s my tree with nice edible leaves.
Certainly heavier than I thought, had some photos and a good cuddle then she was gone, such a cool encounter!!
We then carried on with the park to feed some kangaroos again, but these are either old or have jaw problems they slobbered all over my hand!!
This place had the mums out with their joeys in their pouches, not seen any so far so nice bonus! But poor baby’s though! the position some of them laid made there legs and arms stick out all over the place!
Throughly enjoyed just walking round very relaxed place.
Oh had to add but haven’t got a picture, we wanted to see the platypus feeding in the afternoon, but on our walk we popped into the section to have a watch , well poor shrimp minding its own business got well and truly devoured on in one of the platypus enclosures , so didn’t need to go back for the show later on !! Haha!!
Oh and another thing this is how far away we are from you….well at that point!!…
