So we got up and headed back to the Waikiki beach hostel to dump our bags so we could head to Lanikai, East of Oahu, gorgeous beach Kailua to do a spot of kayaking! We got doubles …the idea of Kieran doing all the work ;),
You have a little video presentation about guidelines purely so you don’t get swept away but we couldn’t of picked a nicer day, winds were 5mph which in the days before they were reaching 20, and the sea was lovely and calm!
We headed out , you have to go in from the river as it’s easier plus gets you use to it.
Then just pull it across in to the sea!
There’s 3 islands you can visit only two you can step foot on, we decided to head the the furthest one you can walk on, weather was perfect warm but slight overcast so we weren’t being crisped!
As you head to the island you just have to stay clear of the sides and head straight in the middle of the beach or you’ll get tipped!
Finished my subway off had a dip in then headed back over to the other island, we only paid for half a day as we got there later, but was plenty of time to just sit, it was so calm we could just stop and hardly move, got some shots of the coral!
The next island was flat and had birds nesting but you could walk around the edge , it had been beautifully carved by the sea, even a little cave!
Then it was time to head back! Had amazing burgers at the burger company and we were even recognised because Kieran insisted eating there so often! Haha!…
