so we headed of for a hike, probably at the worst time, midday.
The sun was completely exposed, even though the weather forecast said it would be cloudy.
It’s a $1 each if you get to it by foot/bus, or it’s a bit more by car.
When you get dropped off by the bus, you have to walk up to the main entrance, you go through a tunnel and already start to get some great views.
Then you climb.
There were some right stupid people wearing really flimsy flip flops and heels?! It’s all pretty uneven to start with, with a token had rail.
It all up hill, which is fine, but it’s when you get to the next stage. Steps! And lots of them, it’s funny I think they wouldn’t seem as big if you didn’t feel half melted, there is literally no shade till you get to here…
You go through a dark tunnel with pokey little lights that might as well not be there, lol.
Next thing was some dreaded spiral stairs,…I don’t get on with these normally. Lack of balance, lol. They weren’t as steep as I first thought so made it easier.
When you get to the top you have to climb through this tiny gap, fine if your small.
The views are worth it though!
This is overlooking dimond head bay.
Couldn’t stay up there long, was still melting, we passed a couple of people who had fainted.
We then headed down to that very beach!
Stopped of at the ice van for some shaved ice, I had strawberry and melon, Kieran just had strawberry. Very sweet but cools you down!
It’s not signposted to get to the beach, just went by directions, thought at one point we may have gone passed, but we hadn’t.
It’s more for its surf, the beach is unpopulated, but it’s very rocky in the water so hard to swim in, just nice to sit in it for a bit to cool down.
After a good and well needed cool down we walked along, lots of rock pools along the way, all sorts of fish most hid with any shadow,
Crabs too..
Look right in the middle and along near the groove, you’ll see two baby crabs.
Also a butterfly, feeling at one with nature, haha!
Kieran picked up a hermit crab and when he was putting him back he nipped him, ha!
Really is pretty and worth the visit.
